Aly and I are thrilled to share that BoTree has won another two awards from the Guild of Fine Food’s Great Taste Awards of 2026, the world’s largest and most trusted gourmet and fine food awards program.

Great Taste is known for its blind tasting process, where producers’ names are hidden from the judges meaning awards are judged purely on the quality, flavour, and craft of the product itself.

This year, 2-star awards were presented to:

1. BoTree Salted Green Kampot Pepper Berries
2. BoTree Salt Fermented Kampot pepper berries (also known in the UK market as Salted Pepper Berries).

The Judges’ Comments

BoTree Kampot Green Salted Pepper
Good, evenly sized peppers with a dark, almost chocolate colour. The smell hints at May blossom and light fruitiness. The berries are pleasingly fresh with a bite rather than crunch. Once crushed, floral notes erupt and the juiciness is clear. A hot pepper with fruity sweetness to compensate and balance.

These peppercorns have a soft, enjoyable pop as they release classic peppery taste and flavour—fruity and hot. They have been well handled to allow their fruity flavour and heat to shine and would add great flavour to any dish.

The berries are well presented and consistent in size. A bright flavour, fairly perfumed, with appropriate salinity from the fleur de sel—fruity, juicy and full flavoured. These pepper berries have been handled with care and skill, which shows in the result.

Even-sized peppercorns with a fruity, peppery aroma where the salt elevates the flavour profile. The heat builds well and lingers in the mouth without overpowering, providing a long finish—a good quality product.

These dark little peppercorns smell delicious with layers of spice and fruit in the aroma. The texture is lovely and enjoyable to crush. The heat is intense and warming with layers of sweet, savoury and vegetal flavour, though judges felt perhaps a dash less fleur de sel would elevate the profile.

These are very fruity peppercorns with citrus notes; the heat builds and sits at the front of the palate while flavours spin around the mouth. They yield on the bite, immediately releasing all the flavours, and the salts gently complement the overall flavour.
