Visit BoTree Farm

Local family-owned & run organic farm

Welcome at BoTree Farm

When you find yourself in Kampot, a visit to a pepper vineyard is an experience you simply can’t miss—much like exploring the vineyards of Champagne.

Kampot is home to over 300 certified small farms, mainly artisanal, alongside a few larger commercial operations. BoTree Farm stands out by combining the charm of a small, artisanal setting with a welcoming shop and restaurant. Our dedicated guide is ready to take you on a tour, sharing the fascinating intricacies of cultivating the world’s finest pepper.

Located just 17 km west of Kampot Town and approximately 15 km north of Kep Beach, BoTree Farm features a visitor center beside a serene lake, providing a peaceful atmosphere to unwind. Here, you’ll find a delightful shop offering a selection of our exceptional pepper, a kitchen, cozy hammock houses, and even kayaks for paddling on the pond. For those feeling adventurous, a shower room is available for a quick rinse after a swim in the pond.

Our talented chef, Malis, prepares delicious traditional Khmer lunches for hungry visitors, complemented by refreshing seasonal fruit juices, shakes, tea, and freshly ground coffee. Beers and soft drinks are available for just 5,000 Riel ($1.25), and all guests are treated to complimentary BoTree’s signature Pippali Pepper tea.

Don’t miss our unique pepper ice cream—it’s a must-try!

A visit to BoTree Farm offers a perfect day out in Kampot’s stunning countryside, where you can explore local villages, rice farms, mango and durian plantations, and the enchanting “Secret Lake” on your way to the farm.

How to Plan Your Visit

We recommend booking a local remorque-style tuk-tuk for a half-day tour, costing not more than $20 for up to four adults. Your driver will be happy to wait while you enjoy your time at BoTree Farm and can also stop at other points of interest along the route. For a full circuit from Kampot to BoTree and back, including an extension to Kep, or vice versa, the fare is approximately $5 more (prices may vary).

Please note that while we do not pay tuk-tuk drivers to bring visitors to BoTree, we do offer them complimentary meals during lunchtime and a small commission on any pepper purchases made in our shop.

We look forward to welcoming you to BoTree Farm!

Volunteer Programme

BoTree Farm runs a volunteer programme through www.workaway.info, enabling international travellers to get an immersive experience of life on a Cambodian farm.

One of the tasks that our volunteers assist with is, after a period of training, leading tours for visitors, often in multiple languages. Since many of the volunteers are French-speaking, we are pleased to often be able to offer the tours and tastings in French too.
